莎翁情詩Sonnet 29:When in disgrace with Fortune and men's eyes

Sonnet 29:When in disgrace with Fortune and men's eyes

          莎翁在他的十四行詩中告訴了我們這個問題的答案。

莎翁情詩第五期Sonnet 29:When in disgrace with Fortune and men's eyes

          Sonnet 29

When in disgrace with Fortune and men's eyes,

I all alone be weep my outcast state,

And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,

And look upon my self and curse my fate,

Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,

Featured likehim, like him with friends possessed,

Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,

With what I most enjoy contented least,

Yet in these thoughts my self almost despising,

Haply I think on thee, and then my state,

(Like to the lark at break of day arising

From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven's gate,

For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings,

That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

          譯本梁宗岱 譯

          當我受盡命運和人們的白眼,

          暗暗地哀悼自己的身世飄零,

          徒用呼吁去干擾聾瞆的昊天,

          顧盼著身影,詛咒自己的生辰,

          愿我和另一個一樣富于希望,

          面貌相似,又和他一樣廣交游,

          希求這人的淵博,那人的內行,

          最賞心的樂事覺得最不對頭;

          可是,當我正要這樣看輕自己,

          忽然想起了你,于是我的精神,

          便像云雀破曉從陰霾的大地

          振翮上升,高唱著圣歌在天門:

          一想起你的愛使我那么富有,

          和帝王換位我也不屑于屈就。

          莎翁在詩里給出了他的答案:面對那些磨難,如果我們有了摯友的愛,那么心中的愁云慘霧都將消失。
